Celebrate Sundays at the new House of Blues in Anaheim. Enjoy a delicious buffet and live music at the world-famous Gospel Brunch.
Where can you feed your appetite and your soul at the same time? Answer: The House of Blues in Anaheim on Sundays during their Gospel Brunch! I had the opportunity to attend the World Famous Gospel Brunch recently and let me tell you, it was awesome. Fun fact: The House of Blues was founded by Isaac Tigrett and first opened in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1992. Here in Orange County, the House of Blues relocated from its Downtown Disney location to its current brand new home at the Anaheim Garden Walk. It is the first House of Blues to be built in a decade.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Anaheim Garden Walk and at 10:00 am on a Sunday, it’s pretty quiet. The murals on the Garden Walk walls provided such a visual treat and Instagram-worthy backdrops. So imagine the sensory overload one gets upon entering the 44,000-square foot concert venue and restaurant! The new #HOBAnaheim is massive and artsy and cool. No cheesy rock memorabilia here.
And now it was time for the show.
The Gospel Brunch is one-of-a-kind high energy gospel show that combines and uplifting live music performance with a decadent dining experience. They offer a made-from-scratch all you can eat southern-style buffet complete with biscuits and gravy, barbecue chicken and collard greens! Before the live music, patrons are encouraged to partake of the buffet before taking their seats. I enjoyed a plate of breakfast staples – bacon, eggs, French toast as well as fried chicken and waffles, salads, bbq chicken, beef brisket (from the carving station) and vegetables. Servers came over filling our glasses with a choice of cranberry or orange juice. You could order bottomless mimosas as well, but it’s not included in the reasonable and so-worth-it $45 brunch price.
Praise the Lord and pass the biscuits…here’s a little video I created about my experience at the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues Anaheim. Learn more at houseofblues.com
